Perfume tips for a Bride
Your special day lingers like your favourite scent. We have some tips that could help you find your perfect scent
Choosing a fragrance for your wedding day is crucial as it will be the scent that will remain in your senses for the rest of your married life. Finding your scent may get tedious but it becomes a lifetime commitment… much like your wedding vows. But first, here are a few things to note while you gear up to walk the aisle.
Pulse Points
The ground rule of using perfumes is to always spray on your pulse points. Like seen in the picture, these points generate a lot of heat and can intensify the fragrance. Do not over do it by rubbing the scent excessively, just one spritz would do. A good trick is to apply Vaseline on each pulse point. This creates a barrier, the fragrance will remain on the surface instead of seeping into your skin. Another trick is to spray perfume on your hairbrush and comb it while getting styled.
Timing
Midday is the best time to test perfumes, a time when the most heat accumulates in the body. While you test your perfume take a walk around the store, and see how the body heat and oils affect your skin. After ten minutes, you can judge whether the scent is good for you or not.
Testing the Perfume
Head to the departmental store a few weeks prior to the wedding day for a perfume test run. When it comes to testing perfumes never settle for the strips. Spray on your skin and let it settle for a few minutes. Also, don’t make it a spray parade; limit yourself to two scents during each shopping trip.
Tips
When looking for your fragrance type, try coordinating it with your personality. Like for instance, would you prefer a floral or fruity scent to an earthy or musk? This helps narrow down your hunt and saves a lot of time.
Never follow another person’s perfume selection; everyone has a different body chemistry.
Just like cocktails, you can always mix perfumes and create your signature scent.
Shaky about selecting a new fragrance? Look back to what you enjoyed wearing. See if they shared any ingredients in common, then you can select your perfume on that basis..
